The Model for Improvement, is a simple, yet powerful tool for accelerating improvement. It enables practitioners to test, measure, implement and spread new and better ways of working to make services more effective and responsive to the needs of children and families. This model is not meant to replace change models that organisations may already be using, but rather to accelerate improvement. When used consistently this approach has been proven to achieve long term positive change that significantly impacts outcomes.
The model has two parts:
- Three fundamental questions
- The Plan-Do-Study-Act cycle to test changes in real work settings. The PDSA cycle guides the test of change to determine if the change is an improvement.
