How to share a child’s views

The way in which a child’s views will be shared will be determined by a number of factors explored in Part 1. This part of the toolkit is intended to pull together some successful examples of how children’s views have been shared to provide options for consideration:

Children’s views can be presented through:

• Including a written explanation of the child’s views within reports
• A child’s own artwork, including drawings, paintings, craftwork etc
• A power point presentation prepared by the child, which may include photos and/or be based around particular themes the child is interested in, e.g. Minecraft
• A child’s voice being recorded and shared
• A video of a child expressing their views directly
• Barnardo’s Avatars
• Letter directly from child to audience (e.g. panel members)
• Any other creative way!
